St. Matthew Learning Stories
We love sharing all the learning that is taking place in our programs. Every program at our centre shares a new story each month, so be sure to check back often! You can also email and print each story to share with friends and family.

St. Matthews Projects
Projects evolve based on the children's interests, where our educators act as co-learners. Projects are documented in three phases; generating ideas by making a plan, implementing the plan and reflecting on the learning.

School-age 3 Completed: Spring 2016 RECEs: Shannon, Heather Objectives: To further explore the children's interest of string, which developed into our project of sewing. The children were interested in learning how to sew many different creations and wanted to speak to the experts to learn more! The project started when the While sewing some clothing for our stuffed animals, we decided it would be fun to dress up indifferent kinds of clothes as an extension of our exploration of fabric! Many children were inspired to sew their own pillows or pin cushions. Some made fun characters. We ended our project with a party where parents were invited to help their child create a quilt patch for our final sewing piece. Click here to read the complete documentation on our project
