Making Apple Juice?

Infant

In the month of October, the Infants used apples to make muffins. This led to the question, "What else they could make with apples, or any fruit?" In November, they squeezed some oranges and made orange juice! They then wondered if apples could somehow make juice too?

The Infant educators decided to try blending the fruit together. Educator Michelle cut up some apples and added them to a blender with water and a pinch of cinnamon. The babies gathered around to watch the fruit spin very fast around the blender. Liam and Michelle started dancing and spinning just like the blender. After a few minutes of blending, it was time for the taste test! Michelle offered Kingston a spoonful of the juice. he furrowed his brow a little, then smiled and signed for more. His second taste made him smile. The educators poured juice into individual cups and the Infants sat together to try it. As they excitedly drank their juice, Michelle made another batch of juice. This time she added milk instead of water. Johnathan tried this version first, taking a bite off of a spoon. He indicated that he liked them by leaning in for another bite. Kingston went to the chair cupboard and pointed. "Should we get some chairs out and sit at the table with our juice?" Michelle asked. He nodded his head so Michelle grabbed some chairs out. The Infants enjoyed their juice together at the table.

To continue this learning, we may try other juice recipes. We wonder if there is anything else we can make with apples.
