During the month of May, the children participated in meaningful Mother’s Day activities that encouraged creativity, communication, and emotional expression. The children thoughtfully created portraits of their mothers by observing and impersonating their mothers’ unique characteristics through drawings. They used markers to colour their work and added textured hair using pieces of coloured paper, which helped strengthen their fine motor skills and creative thinking. While working, the children engaged in rich conversations about happy and funny memories they have shared with their mothers. These discussions supported language development, storytelling, and social connections among peers. The children also created special badges using paper plates and decorated them with colourful materials and gemstones. They proudly added loving messages such as “#1 Mom in the World,” demonstrating early writing skills and thoughtful expression. Through these experiences, the children showed care, appreciation, and gratitude for their families while developing confidence in sharing their ideas and feelings. This activity provided opportunities for self-expression, creativity, and building meaningful relationships within the classroom community.
