School-age 1

This month at RisingOaks Early learning | Saint John Paul II, the School-age one children were part of a series of cultural activities, where they were able to learn about different traditions in different parts of the world, expanding their knowledge of diverse traditions. Such as, the Chinese or Lunar New Year and Black History Month. Through storytelling sessions about Black History Month, what it is and what this means to Canada and the world. The group learned about different cultures, holidays and history, promoting an appreciation for these activities as a cultural tradition. Hands-on activities such as traditional crafts: doing a dragon with paper plates as commemoration of the Chinese New Year and games like signing pinata songs allowed the children to experience cultural practices firsthand, promoting creativity and developing a sense of wonder of the world around them. These activities not only taught the children about different cultures but also promoted empathy, respect and a sense of global citizenship.
