Fun with Slime

School-age 2

This whole week, students in School-age 2 program have been asking us to make slime with them since they all love to play with it. Yesterday, we finally made slime in our classroom with everyone’s help. We started the activity by asking them the colours of the slime that they would like and decided on red and blue. They all wanted to participate in the activity by measuring and pouring the materials in a bowl. Everyone patiently waited for their fair turns helping them in their co-operation skills. We proceeded to measure the glue, baking soda, paint, contact solution and mixed it all together. Throughout the process, everyone was attentive, focused and intrigued as the texture and consistency changed from liquidly glue to sticky and stretchy slime. Two batches of the slime were made for them, red and blue. Everyone chose what colour would they like and started playing with them. Soon enough, some of them wanted to trade their slime colours with somebody else, so the children approached other kids, had a communication with them and traded half of their slime for a different colour.
