Honouring Remembrance Day

Program Name: School-age 3

We are so proud of our children for their hard work and dedication in preparing for Remembrance Day. Their efforts truly brought meaning to this important day in school-age 3. Over the past few weeks, children have been engaged deeply with the history and significance of Remembrance Day. They have created beautiful displays of poppy artwork, learned poems and songs, and participated in meaningful discussions about the importance of peace and honouringring those who served. Their empathy and respect were evident throughout and that includes artwork they created in tribute to veterans. Reflecting on the stories of others encourages children to build empathy and compassion, which are foundational for emotional growth and understanding others perspectives.

Discussing concepts like peace and sacrifice allows children to think critically about the world around them, helping them explore complex ideas in an age-appropriate way. These activities not only deepens children’s understanding of this day but also instills character traits that contribute to their development as compassionate and informed citizens.

These efforts aim to recognize and commend children for their dedication, respect, and empathy in honouringring who served. It highlights the value of remembering history, promoting peace, and the impact of coming together as a community to observe meaningful occasions. This experience has encouraged children to develop a deeper appreciation for the sacrifice made for freedom, fostering a lasting sense of respect and gratitude.
