Do you have children in care now? If so, what is/are their names and which program and centre are they enrolled in. 

I have a 18 month old son currently attending the infant program at Rising Oaks Oak Creek

Why did you decide to get involved with RisingOaks' Board of Directors? 

Giving back to the community has always been important to me, especially as someone who is still building a sense of belonging in a new country. Joining the Board feels like a meaningful way to contribute to a community that has already given so much to our family.

Professionally, I bring experience in HR along with strong strategic thinking and business insight. I see this as an opportunity to contribute those skills in a way that supports the organization’s mission and helps shape positive outcomes for children and families. At the same time, I am also motivated by personal growth — being part of the Board would allow me to learn, collaborate and broaden my perspective.

How has being a Director on the Board benefited you personally and professionally?

As a new Board member, I see this role as an opportunity to build on my professional experience by gaining hands-on exposure to governance, board-level decision-making and the broader strategic direction of a non-profit organization. It will allow me to strengthen my leadership skills, think more holistically and learn from individuals with diverse expertise and perspectives. On a personal level, I value the opportunity to build meaningful connections within my community and be part of something that creates a positive impact for children and families. I believe the experience and insights I gain through this role will continue to benefit me well beyond my term both in my career and in how I engage with my community.

The RisingOaks Board of Directors is a diverse group of committed volunteers who bring a range of professional skills and lived experiences to support the organization. They provide governance, strategic direction and oversight to ensure RisingOaks remains financially sustainable, well-run and aligned with its mission of high-quality early learning. The Board works collaboratively, values different perspectives and partners closely with management to support the best outcomes for children and families.
