School-age 4

Wood Scraps
March 2020

Several months ago Lacey’s family donated some leftover wood materials after completing some household projects. School age 4 has continued to put this wood to good use. Creating many of their own projects, learning how to hammer nails, use screws and attach different materials together. Many of the children can still be found getting creative with these materials and other supplies which we continue to add to the program. They display their past knowledge of different tools and how to use them. We have continued to review and keep up to date with some safe tool handling knowledge which we have been learning and reviewing throughout the school year.

These projects provide the children with opportunities to explore their own visions and put a plan in place with what they want to create. The children have the opportunity to express themselves through their creations. Share their ideas with their peers, work on communication skills as they talk about what they are working on and offer a friend some help.
