Age: 3 to 18 Months

We believe that early learning experiences have a significant effect on later life. This starts with our youngest learners in the infant program. This program is offered at three of Owl's locations: Lincoln Road in Waterloo, Saint John Paul II in Kitchener, and St. Brigid in Ayr. Infant care is only offered on a full time basis (5 full days per week).

Our educators are registered members of the Ontario College of Early Childhood Educators, and beyond that, they are friendly, compassionate and truly care about the children. They work with each family to make the transition to child care as smooth as possible for parent and child.

As a parent, you are your child’s first teacher. Owl aims to create a partnership with families and provides support in introducing new foods, self-regulation and other areas to help meet the individual needs of your child.

Our classrooms focus on play and will engage your child in their natural curiosity focusing on creativity, physical activity, language, numeracy, social development and science through exploration of their environment - even from such a young age!

Twice daily when the weather allows, your child will spend time outdoors in our dynamic, secure and creative space. During this time, children will explore to make sense of the world around them, engage in gross motor activities and tactile play.

Younger infants rely on formula, breast milk and purred food sent from home. As children transition to table food, Owl provides healthy snacks and lunches that are prepared onsite daily by our cook.

Your child has their own crib for naps throughout the day in our staff-supervised sleep room. We follow your child’s schedule and carefully document meals, naps and diaper changes, which is emailed to you so you know exactly what happened throughout the day. We also include a moment of learning or a discovery your child made!

Be sure to check out the daily reflection of your child’s learning and photos displayed at the centre, along with the learning stories shared through our monthly e-news.

Safety is a priority at Owl, starting with a secured entrance with key-fob access at each centre. Our infant room has a higher ratio of educators to children than what is required by the province. In addition, our educators are trained in Standard First Aid & CPR, the use of Epi-Pens, and other requirements of Individual Support Plans.

At Owl Child Care, we give families peace of mind; Every child is valued and reaches their full potential. We look forward to meeting you. Contact us today to book a tour at one of our many locations.
