School-age 1

School-age 1 children have expressed their excitement for Easter, with conversations overheard about Easter egg hunts planned with friends and family.

Tuff trays stimulate children’s creativity by offering a spacious and unrestricted area for exploration. While conversations about Easter egg hunts, Simran was inspired to create a tuff tray centered around this theme. Various items such as bunnies, carrots, pinecones, small wooden stumps, flowers, wooden pieces, and rocks were arranged on the tuff tray. Lucas using his creativity, he utilized wooden stumps to construct a tower, providing a view for his bunny to search for hidden eggs. Paisley C gathered up all the eggs scattered across the tuff tray to count how many her Easter bunny had discovered.

While the children enjoyed playing with the tuff tray, we decided to tap in their creativity more! We gave each child a plastic egg, markers, and stickers to let their imaginations run wild. Finely and Leo decided to transform their eggs into unique characters from among us. Lucas, however had a unique idea for his egg as he chose to incorporate every colour available to make it vibrant. Chole made the decision to create a design from the book. While flipping through the pages and stumbling upon the design she wanted to bring to life, she wasted no time in getting started! The children were able to express their creativity while also improving their fine motor skills, cognitive abilities and hand eye coordination through this activity.

By engaging in these creative activities, the children were able to explore their imagination and express themselves freely. They were encouraged to think outside the box, come up with unique ideas and bring them to life through their artwork
